La Rabière is a district in the south of Joué-lès-Tours, built between 1958 and 1978 on former farmland as a priority development zone. It absorbed much of the town's population growth, which saw the number of residents multiply fivefold between 1954 and 1982.

With around 6 100 residents, La Rabière is the most populous district in the town and the second priority neighbourhood in the Tours metropolitan area. Made up mainly of blocks of flats, including a large share of social housing, it is the subject of an urban renewal programme. Tram line A has served it directly at the Rabière stop since 2013.
