The history of the district

Le Sanitas, or Sanitas-Rotonde, stretches south of Tours station, between the centre and the banks of the Cher. The district owes its isolation to the east and the south to the three railway lines that converge on the nearby station.

That wide-ranging scheme plans the rebuilding and renovation of public facilities, including schools and sports grounds, the remaking of squares and the transformation of part of the housing stock. Le Sanitas is a working-class district under renewal, central and well connected to the rest of the town.
