The Cathédrale district occupies the medieval heart of Agen, around Saint-Caprais, a World Heritage site as part of the routes of Santiago de Compostela, and the rue des Cornières, whose stone and timber arcades sheltered the merchants from the Middle Ages onwards.
The area runs from the boulevard Sylvain-Dumon to the boulevard Scaliger, takes in the rue de la Grande-Horloge, the rue des Augustins and the rue Alsace-Lorraine, and reaches the station. It is the densest and the most heritage-rich part of the city, where buildings of character stand alongside the shops of the centre.

First-time buyers find small units, but at a price well above the rest of the city. Lifts and parking, both rare in the medieval fabric, account for much of the gap.
