The La Poste district occupies the first ring south-west of the centre of Brive-la-Gaillarde, just beyond the boulevards laid out on the footprint of the former ramparts. It takes its name from the main post office, near place Winston Churchill, and covers boulevard du Maréchal Lyautey, rue de Selves, avenue Édouard Herriot and boulevard du Docteur Marbeau.
