Robinson takes up the south-west of Corbeil-Essonnes, on the western side of the former town of Essonnes. The district grew along the rue Robinson and around its station, opened on the line serving the south of the Essonne and today served by the RER D.

The area brings together residential streets, small blocks and larger developments. It takes in the locality of Les Bouts Cornus, to the west, as well as La Nacelle, the neighbouring estate to the south, with its primary school and the place du Petit Pont. La Papeterie, on the Essonne, marks its south-eastern edge.
