Le Crès occupies the north-western slopes of Millau, around the rue du Vieux-Crès, the rue de Ténens, the rue Montplaisir, the rue de Ladoux, the boulevard du Lévézou and the boulevard Maréchal-Leclerc. The avenue Charles-de-Gaulle separates it from Le Cayrel: the Le Crès-Albert-Séguier state primary school, at number 25 on the avenue, entrance on the parc de la Victoire side, is in the district, and the town hall holds its neighbourhood meetings there. It has no connection with the municipality of Le Crès, in the Hérault department.
The area was developed after the war, with houses and small residential blocks. It includes the Viastels estate, 82 homes run by the social landlord Aveyron Habitat on the rue des Fleurs, refurbished in 2019 with the demolition of two buildings to open up a footpath. The Le Crès bakery and patisserie reopened on 5 August 2025.

Le Crès is the most expensive district in Millau, at 2 107 €/m², 21 % above the municipal average and 15 % above Puits-de-Calès, in second place. It is also one of the town's smallest apartment markets, with ten sales a year: the area is mainly made up of houses and small residential blocks, on slopes that offer views over the town. The buyer profile is that of families and workers looking for a residential home near schools, and retirees. Two points to examine. On such a small number of sales, a few transactions are enough to shift the average: the rise of 43 % over five years, from 1 475 €/m² in 2021 to 2 107 in 2026, should be read with caution, and the stability over twelve months, 0,7 %, gives a steadier picture. And the range, from 1 635 to 2 347 €/m², is wide: between a residence with a view and an older building, the gap is real, and a valuation by address is useful.
