The history of the district

Nantilly stretches west of the centre of Saumur, on the slope and at its foot. It is the earliest recorded parish in the town: its church of Notre-Dame de Nantilly, built in the twelfth century in the Romanesque style, is the oldest in Saumur and gained a broad Gothic aisle in the fifteenth century.

The district grew over the centuries towards the south and the west, with the Saint-Louis and Delessert areas, in a fabric that mixes tuffeau town houses, small blocks of flats and more recent homes. It adjoins the grounds of the cavalry school and the cavalry museum, housed in the former stables on the place Charles de Foucauld.

On the market, Nantilly sits at around 1 721 €/m² for an apartment, below the Saumur average, on a volume of about 31 sales a year. It is the second most active district in the town after the Centre-ville, which makes its average relatively reliable.

Who buys in Nantilly
