The history of the district

Cap Brun forms a rocky headland on the north-east of the Toulon harbour, east of the city, on the road to Hyères. The area owes its name to the cape overlooking the sea, and its military history to the Fort du Cap Brun, built between 1845 and 1859 as part of the defensive system of the Toulon stronghold.

The cliffs plunge towards the Mediterranean and the coastal path links the Méjean and Magaud coves, small sheltered inlets. The Notre-Dame du Cap Falcon chapel overlooks the Méjean cove. The Serinette area and the surroundings of L'Aguillon extend the district inland.

Cap Brun grew into an affluent residential district, prized for its natural setting and its views over the harbour. With its villas and residences close to the coast, it is among the most sought-after and most expensive areas of Toulon.

Who buys in Cap Brun

The district attracts affluent buyers, families and working people looking for calm, greenery and sea views, away from the bustle of the centre. Demand focuses on villas and apartments with a terrace or a view over the harbour, both sought after and scarce. The proximity of the coves, the coastal path and Le Mourillon, combined with a well-preserved residential setting, supports the highest prices in the city.

Mostly villas and residential apartments, often with a terrace, garden or sea view. Properties close to the coast and offering a view over the harbour are the most sought after and trade above the city average.

Cap Brun is served by the Mistral network bus lines. Toulon has no tram: getting around is done by bus, by car and, from the harbour, by the network's water buses. The road to Hyères links the district to the centre and the east of the conurbation.

The coastal path, the Méjean and Magaud coves and the proximity of the Le Mourillon beaches offer a living environment turned towards the sea. The area remains residential and quiet, a few minutes from the centre of Toulon.
