The history of the district

Pompeyrie occupies the east of Agen, along the avenue Henri-Barbusse and the cours du 14-Juillet, between the suburbs near the centre and the city exit. The area was built up through the twentieth century, in a fabric mixing town houses, small residential schemes and housing estates.

The district extends southwards along the avenue Jean-Jaurès, in the area of the rue Henri-Descoins, the rue Alphonse-Daudet and the rue Rouget-de-Lisle, as far as the commune boundary. The rue de Pompeyrie, the rue Jourdain, the rue de la Masse and the rue de Pulet mark out its northern part.

Its median, at 1 118 €/m², stands clearly below its average, and its band runs from 1 000 to 1 735 €/m²: the market there is highly uneven. The district is almost flat over five years, at 3 %, and gains 5,6 % over twelve months.

Who buys in Pompeyrie

Pompeyrie is one of the entry points to the Agen market. Buyers there are first-time buyers on a tight budget and investors targeting rental yield. The gap between the median and the average says the essential: two apartments in the same district can sell at very different prices depending on the condition of the building and its energy rating.
