The area was built up late, after the war and then above all from the 1990s onwards, on former farmland that had long stayed on the margin of the two old centres.

The district brings together several places residents know well: the Espace Coquibus, the lycée Robert Doisneau, Les Longaines to the south and the Art de Vivre scheme, which gave its name to the statistical boundary of the area. The Safran Aircraft Engines industrial site occupies its western fringe, at the town boundary.
