Les Eyssagnières occupies the west of Gap, between the viaduct and the first slopes of the Charance mountain. The area was still a farming hamlet in the middle of the twentieth century: its name still refers as much to the hamlet as to the district that grew around it.
Urbanisation came late and by housing developments, which left a low-density fabric, dominated by individual houses, around the chemin du Viaduc, the route de Chaudefeuille and the chemin de la Carrière. Its position, high up and open onto the Gap basin, makes it one of the best exposed areas in the town.
On the market, Les Eyssagnières shows the highest average price in Gap, at around 2 959 €/m² for an apartment, on about 21 sales a year. The median, at 2 860 €/m², stays close to the average. Over five years, the district is up about 16 %, the strongest performance in Gap.
Les Eyssagnières attracts Gap families looking for a house with land and an open view, along with buyers from outside looking for a mountain base. Demand focuses more on houses than on apartments, as the shared-ownership stock here is limited to recent developments.
