Puymaure, a district in the north-west of Gap. Google Maps map.
Puymaure occupies the north-west of Gap, on the slopes overlooking the avenue de Veynes. The district grew along the route de Chabanas, in a residential fabric mixing individual houses, small shared-ownership blocks and newer developments, around rue des Pins, rue des Lavandins and the chemin de Puymaure.
Its perimeter stretches widely over the northern and rural edges of the town: the Charance district and its departmental estate, the Bonne district, Les Bumats, the col Bayard and its Gap-Bayard cross-country ski centre, the Chaudun valley, and Romette, an associated commune since 1 January 1975, separated from the rest of the town by the Buzon torrent and which has kept its branch town hall. Those very thinly built areas produce almost no apartment sales.
On the market, Puymaure sits at around 2 905 €/m² for an apartment, second in the town, on about 43 sales a year. The median, at 2 972 €/m², is above the average: the upper half of the district's market trades well above the Gap level. Over five years, the district is up about 14 %.
Puymaure attracts Gap families looking for a house or a recent apartment with a view, along with buyers drawn by the nearby Charance estate and mountain activities. Demand focuses as much on houses as on recent shared-ownership schemes, with a clear premium for aspect and view.

Romette has been an associated commune of Gap since 1 January 1975, to the north-east, separated from the rest of the town by the Buzon torrent, and it has kept its branch town hall. Its apartment market is too small to carry a publishable price: its sales are attached to Puymaure, the adjoining northern district.
