The castle of Savigny-le-Temple, a former commandery of the Knights Templar from which the town takes its name, marks its heart. The rue Marcel-Benoist, the rue Grande, the mail de la Fontaine-Ronde, the avenue de Comarnic, Les Sables and La Haye-Saint-Germain complete the street pattern. To the north-east the district also takes in the business park, an area of companies with streets named after metals, with no measurable housing market.

Le Bourg attracts buyers looking for the character of the old village rather than the standardised comfort of the new town: village houses, small blocks of flats fitted into the existing fabric, the castle and the park close by.
