The history of the district

The Saint-Bruno district owes its name to its church and the nearby Chartreuse, whose cemetery holds the graves of several Bordeaux figures. It stretches west of the historic centre, towards Saint-Victor and Place Gambetta.

On its edges, the Mériadeck district, a vast urban scheme of the 1960s and 1970s, concentrates office towers, an administrative centre and a shopping mall, in a style very different from stone-built Bordeaux.

Close to the centre while remaining more affordable, Saint-Bruno mixes older building stock and more recent complexes. Demand is steady and prices sit in the upper range of the market, just behind the heritage centre.

Who buys in Saint-Bruno

The district attracts working professionals, executives and investors drawn by immediate proximity to the centre at slightly more moderate prices. Demand focuses on older stone apartments as well as more recent developments. The central location and the tram service support an active market.
