The district is organised around the RER A station, the boulevard Gallieni, which follows the former RN 34, the avenue du Président-Roosevelt, the rue Edgar-Quinet, the rue du Bac and the avenue Michel-Debré. The Victor-Hugo nursery and primary schools, on the avenue Victor-Hugo, are part of it.
It is a former hamlet. From 1887 to 1937, it housed the depot and recharging plant of the tramways from Vincennes to Ville-Évrard. Plaques on the boulevard Gallieni and the place Émile-Zola recall the fighting of the Liberation in August 1944. The RER A station, opened in 1977 on the Neuilly-Plaisance viaduct, made it the best-served district in the municipality.
