The history of the district

Le Mousseau takes up the east of Évry-Courcouronnes, between Aguado to the west, Évry-Village to the north and the Seine valley to the east. The area owes its name to the château des Mousseaux, one of those country houses built above the floodline by Parisian notables, demolished in 1966 just as the new town was taking shape.

What remains of it is an eighteenth-century statue, an Atlas carrying a sphere, the oldest in the town, known to residents as the Bonhomme en Pierre and which gave its name to the neighbouring street. The district itself was built in the 1970s as apartment developments set within planted spaces, filled out by detached houses towards the slopes.

The district median comes out at 1 935 €/m², very close to the average, which points to a homogeneous market. The price level has fallen by around 10 % over five years.
