La Dame Blanche is the large housing estate that changed Garges-lès-Gonesse. Launched in 1956 and started in 1958, the scheme took the commune from market-gardening village to a town of several tens of thousands of residents in about fifteen years. It occupies the whole west of the territory, with two entities that the administrative grid distinguishes, La Dame Blanche Nord and La Dame Blanche Ouest, brought together here on a single page.
Its streets are named after painters: rue Alfred-Sisley, place Eugène-Delacroix, rue Édouard-Manet, rue Jean-Baptiste-Corot, rue Claude-Monet, rue Van-Gogh, rue Gustave-Courbet, allée Pablo-Picasso. Garges-Sarcelles station, on RER line D and terminus of tram line T5, lies within the district boundary, which makes it the gateway to the commune.
On the market, La Dame Blanche sits at around 2 206 €/m² for an apartment, on around 32 sales a year, by far the largest volume in the commune, nearly a third of the Garges total.
